더 절약해보려고 하고 있어요.

A:Why didn’t you drive your car today?

(오늘은 왜 차를 안 가져왔어요?)

B:Gas is so expensive that I decided not to drive anymore.

(기름값이 비싸서 더 이상 차 안 가지고 다니려고요.)

A:Yeah,I am really afraid of the economic crisis.

(그래요. 정말 경제위기가 올까 봐 걱정이에요.)

B:That’s why I’m trying to be more economical.

(그래서 나는 더 절약해보려고 하고 있어요.)

A:Well,I’d rather have two meals a day to save money.

(음, 그렇다면 절약하기 위해 나는 하루에 두 끼만 먹어야겠네요.)

B:No kidding! Health always comes first.

(농담 말아요! 건강이 뭐니뭐니해도 제일이니까.)

▶ be economical:절약하다. “~을 절약하다”라고 할 때는 전치사 of 또는 with를 사용한다. My wife tries to be economical with her money.(아내는 돈을 더 아껴보려고 애쓴다.)

▶ gas:자동차 휘발유=gasoline 등유:kerosene 경유:diesel

▶ I’d rather ~:차라리 ~하는 게 낫다 I’d rather skip lunch today.(오늘 점심은 거르는 게 낫겠다.)

▶ ~ comes first:~이 제일 우선이다. My family comes first(내 가족이 최우선이다.)
