A:What a freezing cold evening! (오늘 저녁 진짜 춥다!)

B:It is the wind that makes it so cold.(바람이 불어서 더 추운 거예요.)

A:They say it’s going to be more freezing cold day tomorrow.(내일은 더 추울 거라던데.)

B:Really? I hate winter.I miss warm spring and hot summer days.(진짜요? 전 겨울이 싫어요. 따뜻한 봄날, 뜨거운 여름이 그립네요.)

A:Well,I need to take a hot bath tonight.(음, 오늘 밤에는 따뜻하게 목욕을 해야겠어요.)

B:There comes a bus.See you tomorrow.(버스 온다. 내일 봐요)

▶ freezing cold: 얼음이 얼 정도로 추운, 즉 기온이 영하인 추운 날씨를 의미한다.It is freezing cold.(정말 추워요.) I am freezing to death.(얼어 죽을 것 같아요.) I am dying of the cold.(추워 죽을 것 같아요.) It is biting cold.(살을 에는 듯이 춥다/ biting은 깨물다, 물다의 의미)

▶ take a hot bath: 따뜻하게 목욕을 하다. 샤워나 목욕을 할 때 흔히 동사를 take를 써서 표현한다.I take a shower every morning.(나는 매일 아침마다 샤워를 합니다.) Why don’t you take a hot bath if you’re tired.(피곤하면 따뜻하게 목욕하세요.)

▶ take a day off: 하루를 쉬다, 원래 근무하는 날인데 월차 등의 이유로 하루를 쉴 때 쓰면 된다.I am off tomorrow.(내일 쉽니다.)
